General description

With its deadweight at design draught of up to 4,200 TDW, cargo vessel Jümme L built at SLKB Shipyard is primarily suitable for the carriage of bulk cargoes. The ship is designed for unrestricted international service. It is built by SLKB Shipyard to be ready for sea navigation. Its design draught is 5.15 meters. Quality is guaranteed by the fact that the ship is built in accordance with the standards of Germanischer Lloyd and it complies with all relevant DIN, STN and EN norms. Similarly, all internal norms and construction guidelines of SLKB Shipyard are followed during production.The ship obtains the following classification:GL 100 A5 E G MC AUT E.

Besides container shipping, agricultural commodities and other bulk cargoes are often shipped on the rivers of Europe and the world. Shipping companies try to meet this demand of their clients as well. Jümme L multi-purpose cargo vessel was designed by SLKB Shipyard to meet an identical demand of its clients.

Dimensions

SLKB Shipyard, as one of Central Europe's leading shipbuilders, aims at finding an optimum proportion between a given vessel's dimensions and its engine capacity. Jümme L could serve as a good example of the above mentioned fact: its overall length is 99.90 meters (96.20 meters between perpendiculars), and its breadth max. is 12.60 meters.

Cargo hold

With a view to different types of cargo Jümme L can transport a great variety of goods, since besides the usual commodities it can also be used to carry dangerous goods of different IMO classes. It is a very reliable cargo vessel with standard equipment and the possibility of very efficient utilization of the cargo area, which is made up of two box shaped holds with a capacity of 2,023m3 and 3,468m3, respectively. This makes up a combined cargo hold capacity of 5,491m3. It is equipped with two movable steel grain bulkheads that are located in the aft and fore of the hold. The bulkheads can be moved by the hatch covers. The hatch covers are weather-proof "Multifold Crocodile" folding panels. They have an open girder design, a top plate flattop, double drains in cross joints, and they are operated by externally arranged hydraulic cylinders. Loads in hold: 147 kN/ square meter (15 t/square meter). The air in the hold can be refreshed six times per hour.

Crew and nautical equipment

The aim of SLKB Shipyard is to design and build ships with an ideal proportion between transport capacity and the number of crew members necessary to sail the vessel. Multi-purpose cargo vessel JÜMME L can be sailed with a minimum eight-man crew. The accommodation area is situated in the aft of the vessel. These spaces together with the mess room and some service areas are air conditioned. The ship's life-saving equipment is designed for 9 persons.
