Welding School 014 – VÚZ – PI Bratislava

The welding school of SLKB Shipyard is a certified welder training institution. It is run under the supervision of the Welding Research Institute - Industrial Institute of the Slovak Republic (VÚZ–PI), Bratislava. Our courses and certificates fully comply with STN and EN norms. Training is conducted under the supervision of renowned institutions, such as the Welding Research Institute - Industrial Institute (VÚZ–PI) in Bratislava, Germanischer Lloyd and SLV Hannover.

The Welding School of SLKB Shipyard offers the following welding courses:

1. Basic welding courses and trainings in compliance with STN 05 07 05

The courses are 120-150 lessons of theory and practice. The trainings are 40 lessons of theory and practice.

Z – M1	Course in elementary electrode welding in CO2 protective atmosphere
DZ – M1	Additional course in elementary electrode welding in CO2 protective atmosphere
Z – G1	Elementary gas welding course - alloy and low-alloy steel
D – G2	Training in oxygen cutting and seaming
D – E2	Training in electrode cutting and seaming
D – E4	Training in plasma-arc cutting

Participants of the above basic courses obtain an international welding certificate. Participants of the trainings receive a Slovak welding certificate. The certificates are valid for two years.

2. Retraining of welders in safety regulations

Retraining of welders in safety regulations in order to extend the validity of their existing welding certificates obtained at basic courses and trainings in compliance with STN 05 06 01, STN 05 06 10 and STN 05 06 30 norms

Length of training: four lessons.

Form of training: theory and welding practice including testing

3. Preparatory courses to obtain welding certificates

Preparatory courses to obtain welding certificates in compliance with one of the following: STN EN 287.1 under the supervision of VÚZ–PI, EN 287.1 under the supervision of Germanischer Lloyd and EN 287.1 under the supervision of SLV Hannover.

Length of training: 80-150 lessons of theory and practice.

Participants can obtain their certificate issued by any certification society listed above (VÚZ – PI).

4. Retraining to extend the validity of existing welding certificates

Retraining to extend the validity of existing welding certificates in compliance with STN EN 287.1 under the supervision of VÚZ – PI, Germanischer Lloyd and SLV Hannover.

Form of retraining: practical training, safety regulations test, practical test.

The Welding School of SLKB Shipyard offers the above described courses and trainings in accordance with EN norms, and that on a high-level at reasonable prices. Courses and trainings are scheduled according to participants' needs: They usually start in monthly intervals.

Accommodation and meals are also available for participants in our premises. The courses are held in Slovak language or in Hungarian. Courses in other languages are also available. In this case the lessons are interpreted into the given foreign language.
