Two newbuildings christened in Komárno

On January 16, 2007 two multi-purpose cargo vessels, a type Leda and a type NL Rýn, were christened at SLKB Shipyard in Komárno. The ships were built for a German customer, Reederei Erwin Strahlmann.

The vessels named Nanuk and Bondenau were built for the carriage of bulk and general cargo, and their deadweight is 3,700 tons. They were constructed in the framework of a contract signed with the above mentioned client, who earlier had already been delivered three other ships by SLKB Shipyard.

SLKB as a renowned European shipyard specializes in the design and building of quality river and seagoing cargo ships with a deadweight of up to 8,000 tons. The shipyard builds ships for Western European clients, primarily for German shipping companies, and currently it is employing a workforce of 1,200.
