Slovenské lodenice Komárno, a. s. (SLKB shipyard) – shipbuilding and ship repairs with 110 years of experience

Shipyard, shipbuilding, ship repair, ship reconstruction, cargo vessel, passenger ship ... These and similar terms have been associated with the town of Komárno, lying on the Danube in south-western Slovakia, for centuries. River and seagoing vessels have been manufactured at SLKB Shipyard, at one of the most important European shipyards, for more than 110 years. The yard's importance in European shipbuilding and in the development of river and sea shipping is undoubted. This is supported by the fact that as an important partner of shipping companies and shipbuilders in Europe and worldwide the plant has been building ships no matter how borders, political powers and economic conditions changed over the years.

Since its foundation 110 years ago, the shipyard has cooperated with numerous renowned partners, such as the Czechoslovak Shipping Company (ČSPD), Anglo-Danubian, Sudoimport, the Hungarian Shipping Company, Wessels Export-Import GmbH, DSR Lines, Bojen Moormeland, Rohden Schiffbetriebs GmbH & Co., SAVA, Strahlmann, Briese etc.So far more than 2,000 river and seagoing vessels of various types have been built at the shipyard including passenger ships, tankers, bucket dredgers, multi-purpose cargo vessels, tug boats, barges and boats.

SLKB Shipyard is the only Slovak shipyard that specializes in the construction of multi-purpose river and seagoing cargo vessels of up to 8,000 TDW. By utilizing modern design and production technologies in shipbuilding, ship conversion and ship repair, SLKB shipyard can come up to the highest expectations of its clients. Our unique production halls enable year-round production, which significantly shortens delivery times.

The strategic location of our shipyard in the heart of Europe provides access both to Black Sea and North Sea ports, consequently to the whole world.
Vessels built at SLKB Shipyard have been sailing not only the Danube, but also the rivers of China and Russia as well as waters in South Africa. Seagoing vessels manufactured by SLKB in the past few years mainly sail the Mediterranean, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea
